Karl-Niklaud HULT from Sweden has been with us since the 16th of May 2002.
On the 1st of July 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed three new Field Research Assistants: Christiane BROUWER (Alberta, Canada), Jamie GALDUN (Herndon, VA, USA) and Rima JABADO (Montreal, Quebec).

Pippa HACKLAND (University of Cape Town) joined us also for three weeks to collect field data for her Honours Project at the University of Cape Town...

We relax in the evening in front of a fire, and with Niklas' Sweedish songs (as always about some weird story)...

On the 5th of July, the weather was cold and wet... but the sea still allowed us to go out... Another seven sharks observed, under slighly less favorable conditions though...

Saturday the 6th of July... We are lucky once more... beautiful weather and it even is a warm day! Moreover, we had eight different sharks - a record for this month of July!

Jamie is handling the bait line, Rima is recording the main data, Christiane is recording identification data, Pippa is taking stereo-photographs and Niklas is recording behavioural pattern data...

We were also very lucky and observed two Southern Right Whales cruising past our boat... These whales visit the South African coastline from June through December, and they come here to give birth and mate.

What can we expect for tomorrow?
