Jenna CAINS (Scotland) has been with us since the 1st of February 2002. Karl-Niklaud HULT from Sweden has been with us since the 15th of May. Giovanni MACAGNINO from England joined the team on the 1st of June 2002.

On the 13th of June, we all went to Mossel Bay (about 350kms east of Gansbaai) to assist the scientific team on board Algoa, a Marine and Coastal Management research vessel.

The objectives of this research expedition in Mossel Bay were to retrieve the bottom monitors recording the transmitter equipped sharks' movements in the Bay, to tag sharks with ultrasonic transmitters, and conduct a few 24+ hour chum sessions, etc...

These research projects are conducted by Marine and Coastal Management and the Collaborative White Shark Research Programme.

We visited the Bontebok National Park on the way to Mossel Bay, and we spent two nights on shore in Mossel Bay where we also visited the Botlierskop Game Farm...

ATTENTION: This expedition to and around Mossel Bay and on board the research vessel Algoa were exclusive. And although these may happen again in the future, DO NOT expect these to be included during your stay!

After our visit of the Bontebok National Park near Swellendam, about half-way between Gansbaai and Mossel Bay, we relaxed on the terrasse of the accommodation in Mossel Bay.
In the morning of the 14th of June, we visited the research vessel "Algoa" which would welcome us on board the next day...

We then visited the Botlierskop Game Farm near Mossel Bay to enjoy a taste of Africa...

Tomorrow, on the 15th of June 2002, we will embark on the vessel "Algoa" anchored just offshore of Seal Island in Mossel Bay...

One adventure after the other...
