In September 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed four Field Research Assistants:
Laura Jane POOLE from Aberdeen (Scotland), Helen Sarah FINDLEY from Southampton (England), Alasdair HARRIS from Edinburgh (Scotland) and Camille MELLIN from Thiverval Grignon (France).

Manuel GORDILLO from Madrid, Spain joined us on the 25th of September for three weeks...

On Sunday the 29th of September, we finally managed to go to sea again... Six sharks for Camille's last day with us...

Shark Diving UnLimited's team invited Al, Camille, Helen and Laura on their boat Stan during the past week...

Camille's departure made Al loose the little sanity he had left...

The weather was great today...

In the evening, we all went to Hermanus to have a meal at the Ocean Basket and listen to some live music at the Whale Festival...

Monday the 30th of September, we wished Camille "Au Revoir!"...

The weather was great and the sea flat in the morning... We observed three sharks... Then suddenly at 12:30 the wind picked up from 5 to 30 knots in less than half a hour... A feeling of the stormy Cape waters!

Today is Al's last day (and probably also Helen - with the storm that hit us in the afternoon)... Al and Helen were handling the bait, while Manuel was recording the data...

With Al imitating the voice and sayings of "Fat Bastard" the whole month, we now have a Austin Powers look alike onboard in Manuel!
