Chris FIORESCU has been assisting us since October 2002 as a guest. The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:
Lydia HO from Toronto (Canada), Costa KONNARIS from Cyprus, Jennie SANDBERG from Galveston (USA), Linda HEAP from Perth (Australia) and Paul GROVES from Perth (Australia).
Thursday the 13th of February, we spent a nice day at sea... but no sharks... which is quite visible from the activity on the boat on the picture...
Friday the 14th of February, Linda and Jennie spent the day on Stan, and we welcomed an old friend from Switzerland on Lamnidae. The day started as a very nice day, but the wind picked up, and it became quite rough... Christrian Aeschlimann and his wife Claudine were very lucky... we observed four, maybe five, white sharks today!!! Great day!
Saturday and Sunday, the sea was very rough, and we could not get out there...

On Sunday, we went to the beach for a walk along the shore and lagoon, and a swim in the waves...

And Billy probably had the most fun of all of us...

The storm that moved in on Friday created very rough seas... and we were all stranded on land till Tuesday the 18th.

The sea was still rough, but we managed to find a protected anchoring place between reefs. The northwesterly winds brought in some warmer waters again, and the water temperature which was at a cold 13 degrees Celcius last week, was again above the 20.

No sharks were observed today.
