WHOOAAH! What a day for the summer season!

Saturday the 17th of January 2004, we observed nine different White Sharks! One of the larger Sharks remained with us for over a hour, and behaved in such a relaxed and cool manner that we really got to enjoy her! She was swimming so slowly... it looked as if she was going to fall asleep any moment... and always shifting her side out of the water to look at us on the boat...

Very windy day, but not a cloud in the sky and sooooo exciting!

After my departure to New York tomorrow for a White Shark Conservation Research Workshop organised by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), our assistants will go on a roadtrip along the Garden Route for a few days, and then they will continue the fieldwork on board Shark Diving Unlimited's cage diving boat.
