The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Oliver RUDD (Oxford, England), Callum Michael CALL (Aberdeen, Scotland), Holly FRANK (Surprise, Arizona, USA), and James van den BROEK (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia).

We welcomed back Andy B. Casagrande IV to the White Shark Trust as a guest for a few weeks...

On the 16th of August, we also welcomed Nicola PYLE from Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.

On Friday the 13th of August 2004, we just managed to go to sea before the storm really hit our coastline... The wind was picking up swiftly during the morning and in the early afternoon, we decided to return to shore before the sea conditions would become to rough (after all it was Friday the 13th, so rather be safe than sorry...). We observed three White Sharks today...
Some more underwater photographs taken by Andy today... As tradition goes, this was going to be Oli's last day at sea with us, and well, he tried, but in the end, he fell in the water...

While we were anchored a Southern Right Whale started breaching several times in a row just south of Geyser Rock, and that was amazing!

After a series of winter storms, we managed to go to sea again on Wednesday the 18th of August 2004... the sea was still quite rough though. Nicola's first day at sea. We observed five different White Sharks, but they just did not swim close to the surface, remaining deep and we were not able to identify a few more Sharks.
Below are some photographs taken last week by Michael Scholl from the back of Lamnidae using a 28mm f2.8 lens on a Nikon F90x body in an underwater Ikelite housing...
