The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Callum Michael CALL (Aberdeen, Scotland), Holly FRANK (Surprise, Arizona, USA), James van den BROEK (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia), and Nicola PYLE (Portsmouth, Hampshire, England).

We welcomed back Andy B. Casagrande IV to the White Shark Trust as a guest for a few weeks...

On Monday the 30th and Tuesday the 31st f August, James, Holly, Callum and Nicola went out to sea on board Barracuda, Shark Diving Unlimited's cage-diving boat... This amazing Southern Right Whale swam right past the boat while they were diving in the Shark cage... Meanwhile Michael Scholl and Tom Peschak joined the research team in False Bay, Alison, Karl and Darren.
Andy Brandy Casagrande IV (ABC4) left for Cape Town last week to join some friends... He decided to visit the White Shark research team in False Bay: Alison Kock, Ralk Laroche and Darren Hunniford.

On Monday the 30th of August, Andy joined them on the boat and he brought back some amazing pictures... The photographs below in which gulls are flying over the Shark, were taken seconds after a Great White Shark breach on a Cape Fur Seal... the gulls pick up the small Seal bits while the Shark is picking the larger pieces...

Tom Peschak and Michael Scholl arrived in Fishoek late on Monday to be ready to go to sea before dawn on Tuesday morning to see some natural predations of Great White Sharks on Cape Fur Seals...

We were also joined by Lesley Rochat and a cameraman to film a small documentary for 50/50, a South African wildlife and nature television program.

Alison, Karl and Darren managed to tag one Shark with an ultrasonic transitter today...

We were also joined by... you probably guessed... Andy!

On our way back to Cape Town, we spotted red tide drifting towards Muizenberg... It was quite amazing to see it from the high road rolling along the cliffy mountain sides...
