The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Sophie Fleur POST (Groningen, The Netherlands), Jessica REDINGER (Hope Valley, RI, USA), Oliver RUDD (Oxford, England) and Gael LAMIELLE (Decines, France).

Late afernoon on Saturday the 17th of July 2004, we went to De Kelders to have a milkshake at the Cafe on the Rocks and admire the wonderful sunset while watching some Southern Right Whales laze in Walker Bay... We just cannot believe this strange South African winter weather... this usually is our rain and storm season.
On Monday the 19th of July 2004, we were invited by Shark Diving Unlimited on board Barracuda (still waiting for SAMSA to re-certify Lamnidae... no comment!). Another wonderful warm winter day, blue sky, no wind, etc...! And our best day with the Sharks so far this month! Below we would like to introduce the excellent crew of Shark Diving Unlimited...

Although the boat was quite full with guests, the Sharks were so good that Oliver and Gael were both given another chance to go into the Shark cage... and what a dive! One three meter Shark just loved Swimming past the cage for the excitement and pleasure of the divers... We observed 15 different White Sharks today...
