The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Trey SNOW (Wilmington, North Carolina, USA), Nicolas PADE (Nivaa, Denmark), Gillian Taylor (Sutton, Surrey, England) and Kate BARLEY (Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England).

On Thursday the 23rd of December 2004, we were invited by Shark Diving Unlimited on board Barracuda... We observed two White Sharks... Among which 'Brad Pitt' (see picture above), a relatively small Shark but with the character of a large Shark. We named this Shark after Brad Pitt's visit to Gansbaai in November, and this Shark entertained him for quite a while...
We then visited Shark Alley between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock to look at the breeding colony of Cape Fur Seals... As they are approaching the end of their two months breeding season, the island is covered with seal pups... Most seals still seemed to have one thing on their mind though as they were flirting without worries (or care) in the middle of the channel...
In the evening, we were invited for a pre-Christmas braai party by Anthony and Elzanne... The entire Barracuda crew was there and other local friends... Big Mick was also doing a tatoo for Rozier... Or was it a hat party? Anyway, a lot of fun!
