Brighton Pier in Brighton, East Sussex, located an hour drive from London is one of the prime tourism destinations on the southern coast of England. And Chris Florescu launched the World Awareness Tour on the Pier in August 2005.
Our friend Chris Florescu, our first member on the White Shark Trust Awareness Team and a former Field Research Assistant of the trust during 2002 and 2003, came back to South Africa from the 20th of August to the 6th of September 2005 to discuss our conservation and education plans, as well as develope new sponsorship strategies, and especially to get together with old friends. We visited the Shark World exhibition at the South African Museum, and Chris presented Michael Scholl with the first check from the proceeds of the sales from our wristbands during August 2005 in the UK.
Chris Florescu also met by chance Michaela Strachan, a famous television presenter in the UK and a patron for the UK Shark Trust, at the Shark World museum during a Wild Challenge shoot on the Great White Sharks in South Africa.
We also used the Carcharias Boutique in Kleinbaai harbour as a launching plateform... This boutique is known to everyone who has come to cage-dive with White Sharks at Dyer Island, and offers a great meeting point for many Sharky people!
The famous V&A Waterfront in Cape Town was not forgotten...
And what better place than the one overlooking Cape Town: Table Mountain overlooking the city, Table Bay and Robben Island...
Chris Florescu and the 'White Shark Trust Against Finning' banner in famous places in London... among which the Chinese corner!
